Spicy Rice


Tired of making dal, rice and vegetables for a full meal?
Try this easy spicy rice dish that uses MAI RASOI Basmati Rice, MAI RASOI Toor Dal, MAI RASOI spices and vegetables all in one. Easy to cook, fun to eat.

Ingredients

  1. ½ cup rice (Soaked for 1 hour)
  2. ½ cup Arhar Dal (Soaked for 1 hour)
  3. Half a cup teaspoon oil
  4. ¼ teaspoon Turmeric powder (haldi)
  5. Bowl 2  to 3 vegetables of your choice : Beans, Peas, Carrots, Potato
  6. ½ tablespoon Urad dal
  7. ½ tablespoon Chana dal
  8. ½ stick Dalchini
  9. 2 tablespoon dry coconut
  10. 5 dry red chilli
  11. 1 tablespoon Sabut Dhania
  12. 2 tablespoon imli water (tamarind soaked in water)

Method

  1. In a pressure cooker add the a tablespoon of oil & the turmeric powder & cook the Soaked rice & Arhar Dal.
  2. Par boil the vegetables in a separate utensil
  3. Preparing Dry Masala : Dry Roast the urad dal, chana dal, Dalchini, dry coconut , red chilli & sabut Dhania and then grind to a powder
  4. Take a couple of spoons of oil , add curry leaves & then the powdered dry masala . Roast for a minute & add the cooked vegetables and the rice & dal & imli water.
  5. Cook together a little & then serve Hot.
