Rozzaana Daal

Ingredients

  1. 1 Cup MAI RASOI Toor dal (also known as arhar dal)
  2. 3 or 4 cups water
  3. 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  4. 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  5. 2 teaspoons cumin seeds (jeera)
  6. ¼ teaspoon Hing
  7. 3 teaspoons lemon juice
  8. Chopped green coriander for garnish

 Method

  1. After washing the Dal, add water, salt, turmeric, and pressure cook till the dal is tender and of a consistency of your choice. (Normally takes 2 – 3 whistles if cooked in a cooker)
  2. Reduce heat and add Cook for 5 minutes stirring continuously.
  3. Prepare the Tadka: In another pan, heat the remaining butter. Add Hing, cumin seeds & chilli (optional)
  4. Add to the dal and stir when the mixture starts to sputter& Jeera starts turning brown
  5. when ready add lemon juice (optional) &chopped green coriander
