Create the good old homely flavours using MAI RASOI Rozana Basmati Rice and MAI RASOI Toor Dal to prepare this lovely dish of Matar Wale Chawal and Rozzana Dal.
Ingredients
- 2 ½ cup basmati rice (washed and soaked for 1 hour, and drained)
- 2 tablespoons ghee
- 1 teaspoon jeera
- 1 cup onion
- 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
- 1 ½ cup peas( shelled)
- salt to taste
- 1 cup onions – sliced and fried golden for garnishing
Method
- Heat the ghee and add jeera. When they crack, add the chopped onions and fry till golden.
Add garam masala. Stir and add the rice. - Fry for 2 minutes.
- Add the peas and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- add 2/3 cup of water and bring to a boil.
- Add the salt.
- Pressure cook. after first whistle, reduce the heat and cook for another 6-7 minutes.
Garnish with fried onions once the steam is out. Serve hot.
