Ingredients
- 1 cup Rice
- ¾ cup moong dal (Dhuli)
- 1 tablespoon Finely chopped ginger
- ½ teaspoon Hing (Asafoetida)
- 1 teaspoon Jeera
- ½ teaspoon Turmeric
- 2 dried red chilli
- Salt to tase
- 1 tablespoon ghee
Method
- Wash & soak the rice & dal.
- In a pressure cooker, heat the ghee then add the Jeera & hing.
- Once the Jeera stops sputtering add the ginger and red chilli & stir for a minute.
- Add the dal & rice, salt, turmeric and 1 and ½ cup of water and pressure cook.
- After the first whistle, lower heat and cook upto 10 minutes.
- Once cooked you can adjust water to get your consistency of choice
